Michael holds a B.A. in International Relations (Phi Beta Kappa, honors and distinction) from Stanford University and a J.D. from Stanford Law School. During college and law school, he created and led diversity workshops in Germany, served as a teaching assistant for a negotiations course, conducted sociology research in Spain as a Stanford President’s Scholar, and advocated for the rights of special needs school children as part of the Youth and Education Law Project. Prior to Capstone, Michael worked as a commercial litigator for a US law firm, where he represented a broad range of clients in federal and state court, and recruited, interviewed and selected new attorneys as a member of the firm’s hiring committee. At Capstone, Michael oversees the Secondary programs and heads the Admissions Consulting practice. He has six years of experience working with students both in Hong Kong and the US on the college and boarding school admissions process. Under his guidance, his students have gained acceptances to many top US institutions, including Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, CalTech, University of Pennsylvania, Phillips Exeter Academy and Phillips Academy – Andover.
