James is an experienced educator who holds a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and PhD in History from the University of Auckland. After completing his undergraduate studies, he spent several years in Shanghai teaching English at a dedicated language training centre. He then returned to New Zealand to pursue his master’s degree, graduating with First Class Honours. Following a tenure in the New Zealand public service, James relocated to Hong Kong in 2023 where he reignited his passion for education and teaching. Alongside his successful teaching career, he went on to pursue postgraduate studies through his home university, completing his doctoral dissertation in 2026. James joins Capstone with the goal of inspiring students to reach their full potential. By fostering critical thinking, he works closely with students to sharpen their reading, writing, and analytical skills for long-term academic success.
