Capstone Alumni Shine as Team Hong Kong at World Schools Debating Championship
Congratulations to our remarkable Capstone alumni who made up 4 out of the 5 members of the Team Hong Kong! Nicole W., Rachel L., Edgar C., and Advik S. represented Hong Kong SAR at the prestigious World Schools Debating Championship held from July 16-26, 2024 in Belgrade, Serbia. Through their exceptional skills, Team Hong Kong achieved an outstanding 6th place ranking in the world at the conclusion of the 8 preliminary rounds and finished as Octofinalists of Worlds. We are especially proud to recognise Rachel, who was named the 10th best speaker globally, and Edgar, who earned the 7th best speaker in the world. Your years of unwavering dedication, tireless preparation, and remarkable talent have culminated in these well-deserved milestones. We are overjoyed to celebrate your incredible achievements – congratulations!
Capstone Primary-level Debaters Excel in Their First Competition
We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our young Capstone debaters at their first-ever international competition! Team Capstone BESLA made us immensely proud by ranking 1st overall in the tournament, earning a perfect record with full wins. Not to be outdone, Capstone CHH also secured a fantastic 4th place break in the tabs. 3 of our primary school debaters were named as Top 10 Speakers in the Under-12 category – a testament to their exceptional skills and hard work. Bravo to all our primary-level debating stars, the future is bright with our young debaters!
