Hector received his B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California – Los Angeles, where he was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. After college, he taught high school students in Japan through the JET Program, then obtained his Cambridge University CELTA teacher-training qualification and completed a Master of Applied Linguistics (TESOL) at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. An experienced teacher and academic researcher, Hector has taught writing, critical thinking and business English courses at various universities and companies in Japan, and published extensive research on teacher development and student learning approaches in Asia. At Capstone, Hector teaches courses in Academic Writing and Scholars.
