SAT
Overview
While numerous companies stress their SAT expertise, Capstone is the only test prep company that stands behind our claims and aligns ourselves with our students by guaranteeing their performance. Simply put:
Don't Pay if You Don't Improve
Our students consistently achieve amazing results because our course is comprehensive. While most of our competitors’ courses rely on simple “strategies” and abundant practice, they typically ignore a critical component (of three) that most influence SAT scores.
- Fundamental Knowledge of Test Components
- Mental/Technical Consistency
- Test Strategies
While most courses focus only on the latter two (Mental/Technical Consistency and Test Strategies) because they are simple to replicate by giving abundant practice sets and getting any random instructor to read a book of test strategies, Capstone uniquely places a large emphasis on test fundamentals. It is only by committing time to developing all three aspects that students can make large gains. Strategies and practice might help a student gain an extra 100-200 points, but how about students who have poor reading, grammar or math skills with scores in the 1500s? Those students do not have the opportunity to score in the 2000+ range if they are not taught the actual content.
This is the difference that drives Capstone’s SAT course and its instructors. When students attend our SAT class, they are taught the strategies and are given numerous “full” practice exams like most other courses. But, in addition, they are also given a better foundation in the specific SAT content because our instructors, all of whom scored in the 99th percentile, also know what foundational concepts are tested and how best to teach them.
The simplest proof is in the score improvements and the recommendations from students. Capstone’s SAT growth comes almost fully from student referrals and almost every student who scored under 1750 improved by 300+ points or more, while almost all remaining students score in the 21XX to 23XX range.
