The Capstone Course
Overview
At the close of many post-graduate programs, students take a course called the “Capstone” which serves as a comprehensive review of their entire studies. Capstone’s “Capstone Course” (sorry for the unintentional alliteration) is an evolved Scholars course that has been developed to adjust to the needs of senior secondary students that are now considering career options, university applications and their future life in general.
In place of formal debate, students discuss various world issues in great depth. In addition to discussing various societal issues, students are also exposed to the different university systems (US, UK, HK and others) and majors. Part of the course involves occasionally meeting graduates or students from different universities and majors who will give students more insight into their particular paths. As university deadlines come closer, students will draft and edit their own application essays, getting practice before the real deadline approaches for them.
Finally, it is a last stage of preparation for students to improve their ability to speak out and insure that they can present their ideas consistently and intelligently. The Capstone Course is a comprehensive course for senior secondary students who want to continue to engage in intelligent discussion while receiving comprehensive preparation for university and its application process. Students in this program usually love the camaraderie they form with their classmates and also feel more assured, as they have trusted guidance to help them navigate the sometimes very stressful final years of secondary school.
Seats in this course are limited as Ronald, Capstone’s founder, personally teaches all sections. If you are interested in this course, please contact Capstone for an assessment and interview.
