Junior SAT
Overview
The Junior SAT course (JSAT) is for students that are either seeking early preparation for the SAT exam or applying to specialized summer education programs in the US which use the SAT as an entrance requirement. While most of the curriculum is identical to the regular SAT course (for students in Grade 10+), the JSAT differs in that it spends more time developing long-term reading comprehension improvement and covers a more expansive math curriculum to compensate for younger students’ lack of exposure to certain areas of math.
Another major difference between the JSAT and the normal SAT course is that the JSAT is taught with a younger audience in mind. Instructors are trained to work with the younger aged students and make sure the students don’t feel intimidated with the SAT content. Additionally, because all of the students are around the same age group, they are more relaxed in class and are less hesitant to ask questions. Instructors also engage students more, understanding that younger students may sometimes lack the attention spans of their older SAT-studying peers. Capstone is the ideal education center for early SAT test takers as we are the only education center that specializes in US test prep and has extensive experience working with younger aged students.
The JSAT course is offered in the Fall, Winter and Summer.
