Literature & Society

Literature & Society

Overview

The Literature & Society (L&S) course is for students who want the analytical rigor of the Scholars program focused on current events, history and contemporary/classic literature.

Within the course students will be exposed to a wide range of literary texts, world history and global societal issues, as they compare the three and then consider and explore ethics, culture, and society. Reading and writing is a big part of this course and is a great natural extension for students who want to continue exploring a range of creative writing while also strengthening their literary analysis skills. This course also serves as foundation for students who wish to embark upon English Literature and World History at the IB, AP, GCSE/AS/AL and DSE levels

While students with great passion or curiosity for literature and history will find this to be a unique and challenging program taught by literature and history graduates from the world’s most renowned universities for the subjects, all students will develop a greater repertoire of reading, writing and vocabulary skills.
