Capstone is experienced in elite English preparation.  For many years, we have offered specially designed English programs designed for more advanced students who sought courses that would not only improve their tangible presentation and compositions skills, but also their exposure to, and analysis of, social, economic and political issues spanning the region and the world. Our IB English courses were designed from an analysis of both the IB curriculum learning rubric and IB’s examination method. Our approach to teaching (similar to how we also teach our SAT exams) is the belief that mastering any subject and its associated exams requires students to understand both content and test strategy. As students approach the IB exam period, more specific test prep will be provided in class to allow students to become more familiar with the official IB exam format and the specific strategies that will help students maximize their scores. However, in the period before, Capstone focuses on the content and learning objectives set forth by the IBO with the aim to teach students the knowledge intended to by the curriculum designers.
