The SAT is a required admissions exam for anyone wishing to complete their undergraduate degree program in the US. The total exam lasts three hours and forty five minutes long and is composed of a Critical Reading, Writing, and Quantitiative section. The Critical Reading section is composed of short and long reading comprehension passages, and sentence completions - all answered by multiple choice. The Quantitative section is composed of multiple choice and fill-in questions testing basic arithmetic, algerba, and geometry. Finally, the Writing section requires the test-taker to write an essay, and answer multiple choice questions testing both sentence corrections and sentence error identification.

Each section is worth 800 points each, and your total SAT score is out of 2400. The exam is paper-based and held in Hong Kong a few times throughout the year.
