The Academic Writing course is designed specifically to prepare students for the rigors of secondary and university level English writing at top academic institutions internationally. The primary aim is to elevate students to a level where they are comfortable with writing English-language papers across a range of academia-required composition styles (including short stories, persuasive essays, expository essays and narrative compositions) in both timed and un-timed environments.

For many of our students, they do not evolve to just become good writers, but also great thinkers - our teachers place an emphasis on each individual student's ability to think through ideas thoroughly. Both primary and secondary level students are taught skills that allow them to write beyond the standard formulaic essay that is commonly taught in schools. Instead, emphasis is placed significantly on developing personal writing style, a combination of word choice, sentence structure, presentation style and overall organization.

A number of our writing students have won or received special recognition in various essay and short-story competitions in their schools, Hong Kong and internationally.
